Skincare is a major concern for modern consumers. In fact, the skincare market alone brings in skin-care-market/">$130 billion in revenue worldwide each year.

This investment doesn’t just come from casual skincare regimens. It’s also fueled by those who are seeking solutions for more serious conditions — like atopic dermatitis, a condition often referred to by the more common name of eczema.

The Struggle With Eczema Is Real

Eczema is a common skin condition that impacts the lives of numerous Americans every single day. How many people are we talking about here? Cleveland Clinic estimates that as many as 15 million Americans struggle with the skin condition. That’s a lot of itchy hands, arms, legs, and feet.

Many of these cases start in infancy, with upwards of 20% of newborns experiencing the eczema itch in one way or another. While roughly half of these outgrow the issue or at the least, improve as they grow, many are left managing eczema right into adulthood.

While eczema isn’t particularly dangerous, it can still have a serious impact on one’s quality of life. Symptoms involve that iconic dry and itchy skin, but can also include:

• Generally sensitive, raw, swollen skin exacerbated by scratching;
• Tiny bumps that can ooze when scratched;
• Thick, scaly skin that can crack when it gets bad enough;
• Brownish-gray or red patches of skin in various areas of the body.

In addition to the pain, the appearance of eczema can be unattractive. This drives many individuals to choose long sleeve shirts and pants to avoid awkward or undesired conversations.

From itchiness to one’s outward appearances, there are lots of ways that eczema negatively impacts an individual’s day-to-day life. The good news is, we have a simple-yet-powerful way to drive that itch away.

At Dr. Doug’s, we’re used to dealing with dry, itchy, unmoisturized skin. It’s why we utilize many of nature’s most potent skincare ingredients.

Shea butter and coconut oil are known for their anti-inflammatory prowess. Beeswax reduces unnecessary friction. Peppermint oil relieves itching and muscle pain. You get the idea.

Our goal is to bring all of these well-known anti-itching agents together into effective products that focus on different areas of skin health and preservation — including fighting eczema.

In fact, we have an entire toolkit">Eczema Relief Toolkit that can equip you with a trifecta of weapons that can heal, restore, and preserve eczema-prone skin. The kit includes:

• A bar of our Charcoal Soap;
• A jar of our original Miracle Balm;
• A stick of our Miracle Balm + Zinc.

These are designed to be used in a daily three-part process. Start and end each day by cleaning and moisturizing the skin with the Charcoal Soap.

In between, apply the Miracle Balm + Zinc onto any cracked or wounded skin. Keep this stick with you for applications as you go through your day.

Finally, apply the Original Miracle Balm to your body — especially on dry, flaky, and generally itchy patches of skin — at least once each day (ideally after a shower) to provide a steady, 24-hour source of moisture.
